BLUSH
A Women's Culture Zine
THE GOAL FOR THE MAGAZINE?

My zine reflects the essence and power of a woman. Showcasing pop culture events that have been influenced by women including content that involves various life stages. The overall power that women hold when it comes to historical events. Women demonstrate soft and dark energy by expressing their beauty through their presence.
TARGET AUDIENCE?

Targetting mainly women from ages 20-45 and men who are open to explore and educate themselves on women empowerment.
DESIGN STRATEGY?

When beginning the research for my magazine BLUSH, I had a lot of design strategies planned out before developing it. I use the design principles of grid, layout, colour, and typography, while creating the first feature of thiS zine. I also wanted to add the element of white space as this is a major aspect of my magazine. Next, make sure to take into account the typography styles, hierarchy content, a consistent colour palette, and the awareness of the target audience that I was designing for.
WHAT YOU LEARNED?

Through the process of creating my zine, I have discovered that text wrap is a major feature when creating a magazine. Through each mini feature of my zine I incorporated some sort of text wrap around images or vector shapes. Learning more about text wrap made me be more creative with each mini feature, and made me want to explore more with that feature in InDesign.
WHAT PARTS ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?

Finally, after finishing all features and advertisements, I believe I am most proud of the type styles and placement of each paragraph. It was very creative, and all ties very well together into my zine. Within each mini feature, each type style is different and creative, however all ties together to create the value and brand of the zine BLUSH. In the future, I would love to create a second zine that will also tie into the presence of femininity, and the power that women hold.
